about
Here’s some words from Andre about how it went down…
When I began work on this song, the first image that came to mind was that of an airplane, getting ready to take me home, wherever that might be. I wanted to express the feeling of peace I feel whenever I enter into a space that I consider “home”. Whether that be with family or friends in Los Angeles or with loved ones at any one of my favorite spots in the Bay Area. Imperfect as either may be, I wanted to express how thankful I am that I’m able to come to Whittier, CA, Los Angeles, San Francisco or to the company of folks I love. I call that home.
lyrics
Been and around and away for so long
Thought I might not be back again
Lost myself in the clouds
With all the people I've seen
But, for the love that I found
Have I ever really known my place?
I feel it down in my soul
So, just let me say
So good to be home
So good to be home
Miss my streets and my alleyways
Yes, I did
And, all my Avenues and all my sunny days
I will find them again
Now, I'm not saying that it's perfect
Some might wonder, if it's even really worth it?
But, all my worry comes down
The moment those wheels touch ground
It's so good to be home
So good to be home
And, though the place that you're born
Ain't always where you're from
And, I'll say it again
It's so good to be home
So good to be home
